Early Progress Plan for Ventura County

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) has prepared Early Progress Plans (EPP) for several California counties, including Ventura County. These plans show progress towards attaining the federal 8-hour ozone standard and establish transportation conformity budgets for each of the counties. The ARB will hold a public hearing on the Ventura County EPP during its Board hearing in Sacramento on February 29, 2008. Moreover, ARB has requested that EPA parallel process the EPP for adequacy, meaning that EPA will start a public comment period on the adequacy of the EPP prior to ARB completing its EPP adoption process. As for every EPA adequacy review, the public has 30 days to comment on the adequacy of the EPP.

The Ventura County EPP, ARB’s public hearing notice, EPA’s EPP public review notice, and a District information item about the EPP that was presented to the Ventura County Air Pollution Control Board during its January 8, 2008 meeting, may be found at:

Questions on the EPP should be directed to Dennis Wade, of ARB at (916) 327-2963.
