Our Clean Air Psychic Predicts
100% Green Cars for Everyone by 2020

Not everyone's car will be green on the outside. But with all sorts of new technologies already on the market, there's no reason why vehicles can't be all green on the inside. Just pick your favorite.

Electric Vehicles
Electric Vehicles (EV) produce zero harmful emissions. Today's electric car is as easy to re- charge as a cell phone and goes for a distance of up to 100 miles. Not only that, it's 60% cheaper to run than a gasoline-powered car, and no oil changes.

Natural Gas Vehicles
Compared to gasoline-powered vehicles, NGVs reduce emissions of carbon monoxide by more than 90 % and hydrocarbons by up to 93%. Natural gas even costs less than gasoline. The Natural Gas Association estimates that there will be 20 million NGVs on the road by the year 2010.

Hybrid Vehicles
You can walk into several car dealerships today, plunk down about $23,000 and drive away in a "hybrid" car. Hybrids run on a combination of a gasoline-powered engine and an electrical battery. They produce significantly fewer emissions and they provide great gas mileage. And you never need to plug them in! Car manufacturers are also currently planning the production of a hydrogen-gasoline hybrid.

Fuel Cells
First developed for the NASA Space Program, fuel cells combine the range of normal gasoline cars with the zero emissions of electric cars. A fuel cell uses hydrogen to create energy, producing as its only by-product ordinary water. Several automakers are already working on fuel cell prototypes.

"AND THESE TECHNOLOGIES WILL COMPLETELY CHANGE TRAVEL BY 2025," Our Clean Air Psychic reveals:

Smart Cars
A "Smart Car" uses an intelligent cruise-control system, consisting of computers, cameras, and tiny sensors that allow cars to communicate and synchronize their positions with other vehicles on the road. The result? Traffic flows more smoothly so cars spend less time on the road, and have less opportunity to emit harmful pollutants into our air.

Automated Highways
Roadside sensors, computers, and other devices link with specially equipped cars, trucks, and buses to guide vehicles toward their destinations. The system then controls all aspects of the drive, until drivers reach a selected exit point, when the system returns control of the vehicle to the driver.
