Air Pollution Control Board meets June 24

Agenda includes expansion of Old Car Buyback Program

 

(VENTURA, Calif. — June 18, 2025) The agenda for the Ventura County Air Pollution Control Board meeting on Tuesday, June 24, includes the following:

  • CAR BUYBACK: The board will vote on whether to double the amount that people receive to retire old vehicles through the Old Car Buyback Program to $2,000. The proposal also would expand the eligible model years to 2003 or older from the current 1997 or older and extend the program through 2026.
  • GRANTS: The board will consider approval of nearly $1.9 million in grants for equipment that will reduce emissions. Awardees include Ventura County’s first zero-emission, solar-powered marine project and six public charging stations for electric vehicles.
  • BUDGET: The board will hold a second public hearing on and consider approval of the district’s proposed 2025-2026 budget.

The meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Ventura County Board of Supervisors Hearing Room at 800 S. Victoria Ave. in Ventura and livestreamed.
