Carpooling & Public Transportation

More than half of Ventura County’s air pollution and greenhouse gases are emitted from our vehicles. Ridesharing and using public transportation saves trips and cuts pollution created by driving. So, for work and play, choose alternatives to driving alone.

So Many Ways To Save:

Drive less and save money on gas, insurance and vehicle wear and tear. Meanwhile, you help keep Ventura County’s air cleaner and ease traffic congestion, which causes longer commutes and more pollution.

Save time by multitasking. When you take the bus or ride as a passenger, you can catch up on work, read or plan ahead.

Save yourself. Studies show that fighting traffic wears you down. When you carpool or vanpool, other people in the car can help reduce stress.

Resources:

The Ventura County Transportation Commission provides all bus and train schedules and a program to help find matches for carpooling or vanpooling. The commission also provides a Guaranteed Ride Home Program, a special safety net that enables ride-sharers to take care of emergencies when they didn't drive.
