Air Pollution Control Board meets Oct. 14
Agenda includes electric bus for Ocean View School District
The agenda for the Ventura County Air Pollution Control Board meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 14, includes the following:
• BUS AND CHARGERS: The board will consider awarding Community Air Protection grants for two projects in California-designated disadvantaged and low-income communities. Western Ag Group LLC would receive about $1.15 million toward the cost of 25 Level 3 electric charging stations, and Ocean View School District would receive about $480,000 to purchase an electric school bus.
• NEW POSITION: The board will consider adding an Assistant Deputy Director position for VCAPCD. Reporting to the Air Pollution Control Officer with an indirect reporting line to the board, the position will help align administrative functions with long-term strategic goals.
• AIR PURIFIERS: Board members will vote on awarding a Clean Air Fund grant of about $27,000 to the County of Ventura Sustainability Division to purchase air purifiers for Rio Mesa High School, Rio Del Valle Junior High School and two other schools. The purifiers would be placed in classrooms and common spaces, and Ventura County Public Health will present assemblies on clean air.
The meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Ventura County Board of Supervisors Hearing Room at 800 S. Victoria Ave. in Ventura and livestreamed.
