County records best air quality in history

The graph shows ozone levels generally decreasing from 2000 though 2025 with lines of different colors representing Thousand Oaks, El Rio, Ojai, Piru and Simi Valley. Standards from 1997, 2008 and 2015 are shown in relation to recorded levels.

Federal ozone standards exceeded on 6 days

 

Ventura County had its best air quality on record in 2025!

There were six days when the county exceeded the 2015 federal standard for ozone (O3), the lowest number to date. Data also showed the county’s air quality status for ozone relative to the National Ambient Air Quality Standards, or design value, was the lowest on record.
