Public hearings on agreements with union to be held

Public hearings on agreements with two unions representing staff will be held during a special meeting of the Ventura County Air Pollution Control Board on Tuesday, Dec. 16.

The memorandums of understanding reached by the County of Ventura and Service Employees International Union Local 721 and Ventura Employees Association include the following:

• COMPENSATION INCREASES: Annual general increases of 3.5% for three years would start in December 2025.
• MARKET-BASED ADJUSTMENTS: Salary increases ranging from 1% to 4.5% would be given annually for two years to employees in classifications identified as having compensation levels behind market. This would affect 10 employees.
• ADDITIONAL HOLIDAY: Cesar Chavez Day on March 31 would become a paid holiday.

The meeting will be held at 1:45 p.m. in the Ventura County Board of Supervisors Hearing Room at 800 S. Victoria Ave. in Ventura and livestreamed.
