Agenda includes electric truck grant for Botanical Gardens

The agenda for the Ventura County Air Pollution Control Board meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 9, includes the following:

• BOTANICAL GARDENS: The board will consider awarding $25,000 from the Clean Air Fund to the Ventura Botanical Gardens toward the purchase of an electric pickup truck. This would enable the nonprofit to take its final step in transitioning to the use of all electric landscaping equipment and vehicles.

• EV PROGRAM: Board members will vote on an agreement with the Community Housing Development Corp. that would reimburse the district up to $10,000 for conducting local outreach for the Driving Clean Assistance Program. The program provides grants and other support to help people in low-income and disadvantaged communities access electric vehicles and charging stations.

• COMMITTEE MEMBER: The board will consider appointing Luke Faith, a Fillmore resident and oil field supervisor for Carbon California, to the VCAPCD Advisory Committee. The committee provides a forum for private citizens, health and environmental organizations, government agencies and industry to discuss district rule development and other air pollution concerns.

The meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Ventura County Board of Supervisors Hearing Room at 800 S. Victoria Ave. in Ventura and livestreamed. To review the full agenda and related documents, watch the livestream and find out how to provide public comments, visit the APCB Agendas page.
